If you want to apply for the Monaco resident permit and obtain your residency card, you will have to take the following steps. Note that it is mandatory to submit the application for anyone who is at least 16 years old and planning to live in Monaco for more than three months in a year. How to apply for a residence permit in Monaco ?
The residency requirements :
To reside in Monaco you will have to show :

A rental contract of 12 months minimum registered in Monaco
An official form showing you are staying with a relative in Monaco (Certificat d’Hébergement) - Proof of sufficient financial resources which can be

A professional income if you are self-employed in Monaco
A document showing you are supported by a relative or a partner living with you in Monaco
A bank letter in Monaco confirming that you have enough resources (500.000€ per person if you have no employment contract in Monaco) - Criminal records information of the last country you have been resident in the five years before coming to Monaco

Follow the online service to create your account and upload all the documents
The online service allows you to apply for your first residence card but also for future renewals. An agent will contact you to give you a date for your interview.
- Attend your interview with the Monaco Authorities
During this interview, Monaco autorithies will ask you about your education, your work experience, your family. - Receive your first Monaco residency permit
During the next 6 to 8 weeks, the Monaco authorities will make all the checks. Once all the verification is completed you will be given your first “Carte de Séjour Temporaire” which is valid for one year. You will renew it annually for three years.
